Faridabad founded in 1607 by Shaikh Farid (treasurer to Mughal Emperor Jahangir), was originally established to protect the Grand Trunk Road. Today, it is a major industrial city in Haryana. Lala Hardwari Lal Ved Prakash (Special Barfi Wale) This is one of Faridabad’s most iconic sweet shops, specifically located in the Ballabhgarh area. Established in 1930, it is a legendary heritage brand known for its traditional Indian craftsmanship and consistent quality across generations. Its most celebrated item is the Special Khoya Burfi, often referred to by locals simply as “Special Barfi”.
