City Bakery – Pune

City Bakery has been around for more than 50 years in Pune. Without a clear date of inception, we know that this bakery has been around longer than I have. Here’s a fun fact, the owners of Royal Bakery and City Bakery are from the same family. So the story goes that Rusi Irani, proprietor, Royal Bakery fled Iran and came to Pune. He started off working as a waiter in Kohinoor Restaurant and eventually made his way up to become partners in the establishment. Post this stint, he went on to open Royal Bakery, also in Camp. After the birth of his two sons, the bakery got divided into City Bakery and the other son now runs Royal Bakery as is. It’s all in the family!
